Overview
The Hog's Breath Saloon is in famous in Key West for its live entertainment and good times. Hog's Breath Saloon offers live music, food, drinks and a raw bar. Annual festivals and events include the Bikini Contest, Hog Trot 5K run and fishing tournaments. The Original Hog's Breath Saloon was established in Ft. Walton Beach, FL, in 1976. The saying, "Hog's breath is better than no breath at all" is a modified version of a saying the founder, Jerry Dorminy's grandmother used, "Bad breath is better than no breath at all."
One of the great things about this Florida beach bar is that there is an outside open air bar. This makes it more like a tiki bar than a traditional Key West Duval Street bar. It has a great atmosphere, and one of the places you will want to stay for awhile. Entertainment starts at 1:00 p.m. and goes 'till 2:00 a.m. Every time we've been here, more than just a few, the entertainment has lived up to its billing. It has been fabulous. Sometimes Key West entertainment can be a bit commercial. Not here. It's just plain great music at this Florida beach bar.
The bar is covered with stickers and patches from the military, fire fighters, police, and pretty much anyone with a sticker or patch. The food is good and the wait staff is friendly. It is one of our favorite Key West, Florida beach bars. We always spend time here when we are in the Keys.
