Overview
Maybe it is because we live on Siesta Key, but SKOB is one of our favorite Florida beach bars. Located in the heart of Siesta Key Village, SKOB is a great and fun place to go. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. The drinks are good, and the food is really good. The crowd ranges in all ages, and they may be locals or tourists, but everyone is having a good time.
There is a band playing every evening, and they are always good. Friday and Saturday there is usually a band playing in the afternoon. We love it when you can go to lunch and hear live music, especially good live music. Every day from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM is happy hour.
Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM you can come to SKOB for a delicious brunch. There are few places on the Key that offer Sunday brunch and you can be sure this Florida beach bar has a great brunch. Come for the brunch and stay for the neighborly chatter.
While technically SKOB isn't on the beach, it is within walking distance of the beach. You'll see plenty of beachgoers walking by and stopping in. And if you are lucky enough to be around for Sarasota's legendary volley ball tournaments, you'll find the crowd really easy on the eyes. You will be comfortable there eating your grouper sandwich in your flip flops and bathing suit. This is a sign of a true Florida beach bar.
