Stan's is a unique place located on the water in Goodland, Florida. It is everything from a biker bar to a girl's day out bar. Stan sadly passed away in June of 2012. He used to do a show on Sunday afternoons that was fun and involved the crowd. But, this Florida beach bar lives on and has live music Tuesday through Sunday every week. Bands every day is a good thing, indeed.
On a recent Sunday we went back to Stan's to see how they were doing without their namesake. No need to worry about Stan's surviving without Stan. We have never seen a more crowded beach bar. Parking was at a premium, $10 per space, but people were finding spots anywhere they could up and down the road. Yes, and many were paying the $10 rate.
This Florida beach bar attracts the locals and tourists. Their web site did not indicate any special event happening that day. There was a live band playing and people were sitting back to listen to the band. In fact many were standing. Sundays you can find various bands playing from 1 pm to 6 pm.
Do you know what the Buzzard Lope is? Now that in itself is a reason to visit Stan's. And how about Queen Mary?
The last week in January is the Mullet Festival. You wouldn't want to miss that. Stan's is a unique experience, and a great way to spend an afternoon people watching and drinking.
Depending on the season you can find live music on every day except Monday when they are closed. Sometimes 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM and sometimes in the afternoon. Check Stan's web site for exact times and names of the bands. This Florida beach bar is unique. Stan's is a treasure and you will be happy you visited because it is outside the norm.
Goodland has renamed a bridge in honor of Stan. They say that Stan put Goodland on the map and they have now returned the favor by naming the CR92 bridge the "Stan Gober Memorial Bridge".
You will no doubt enjoy this unique and popular Florida beach bar. We sure did.
