Overview

Conch House is located in St. Augustine on Matanzas Inlet. The restaurant area has lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating features individual tiki huts with seating for at least 8 people. These tiki huts are unique and charming. The tiki huts are also popular places to sit. They sure are unique, and we were reluctant to leave because we were lucky enough to be seated in our own private tiki bar. So relaxing.

Our waitress was very efficient, friendly, pretty and thoughtful. She told us she was a fifth generation Mirorcan. This means her family has been in St. Augustine since the 1700's and descendants of the original settlers to that area. Imagine that? In fact, the owners of the restaurant are the Ponce family. Their family has also been in this area for over 400 years. You don't find that too often in Florida.

From the restaurant you can look across the inlet and see the round shaped Conch House Lounge which sits 300 feet out over the water. It is at the lounge where you will catch live music Thursday through Saturday. Friday and Saturday there is live music twice a day. On Sunday, you can hear Reggae music on the floating dock. When there is a full moon, they have a monthly luau. However, the restaurant has live music on Friday and Saturday nights. What a great place!!

Happy Hour is 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and it has been voted the best happy hour in St. Augustine. Surely, you wouldn't want to miss that. You can arrive by car or boat. You can even book a room at the resort and stay awhile. You will love it there.

Check out the carvings in all the posts around the restaurant. They are awesome!!
